Amityville Soccer Club Youth Soccer Parent, Coach, and Player Code of Conduct

At Amityville Soccer Club, we are committed to creating a positive and supportive environment for our youth players, coaches, and parents. We believe that fostering good sportsmanship, respect, and fair play is crucial in the development of our young athletes. To ensure the well-being and safety of all individuals involved, we have established the following Code of Conduct for parents, coaches, and players participating in our club:

For Parents:

Be a positive role model: Encourage and support your child's efforts, regardless of the outcome of the game. Show respect to all participants, including players, coaches, officials, and opposing teams.

Create a positive atmosphere: Avoid confrontational behavior or negative comments towards players, coaches, officials, or other parents. Remember that you are a representative of Amityville Soccer Club and should uphold our values and reputation.                              

Respect the game and its officials: Understand that referees and officials play an important role in maintaining fair play. Refrain from challenging their decisions or engaging in verbal or physical abuse.                                

Promote sportsmanship: Teach your child to respect opponents, referees, coaches, and teammates. Encourage fair play, honesty, and integrity both on and off the field.                                   

Intervene when necessary: As a parent, you are responsible for the behavior of your child. If you observe apparent and continued violations of the player code of conduct, it is your responsibility to intercede and address the issue with your child. If your child is unable to conform to our guidelines, parents have a responsibility to remove their child from the program.

Communicate constructively: If you have concerns or issues, address them calmly and respectfully with the appropriate club representative, such as the coach or club administrator. Avoid discussing problems immediately after a game in the presence of players and spectators.

Acknowledge consequences: Understand that any violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including suspension or expulsion from Amityville Soccer Club.

For Coaches:

Be a positive role model: Set an example of good sportsmanship and fair play for your players. Display respect towards opponents, officials, parents, and your coaching staff.

Foster a positive environment: Create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where all players can develop their skills and enjoy the game. Encourage teamwork, discipline, and respect among your players.

Communicate effectively: Provide clear and constructive feedback to players. Encourage open communication with parents and address their concerns or inquiries in a timely and respectful manner.

Respect the game and its officials: Treat referees and officials with respect and support their decisions, even if you disagree. Do not engage in confrontations or use abusive language towards them.

Uphold the values of Amityville Soccer Club: Act in a manner that reflects the club's principles of sportsmanship, fair play, and inclusivity. Encourage players to do the same.                                

Enforce consequences: Coaches are responsible for addressing and reporting any violations of this Code of Conduct by players to the appropriate club authorities.

For Players:                                   

Show respect: Treat your coaches, teammates, opponents, referees, and spectators with respect. Display good sportsmanship and fair play at all times. This includes refraining from using offensive language, including cursing or any form of verbal abuse.

Follow the rules: Understand and abide by the rules of the game. Play within the spirit of the game and respect the decisions made by referees and officials. Avoid dangerous plays that could harm others intentionally. Additionally, follow the rules set by your coaches and trainers during games and at practice.                                   

Support your teammates: Encourage and uplift your teammates, regardless of their performance. Work together as a team and celebrate each other's successes. Harmful actions targeting teammates or any behavior that puts them at risk will not be tolerated.                                   

Accept coaching and instruction: Respect and follow the instructions given by your coaches, trainers, and team leaders. Consistently defying instructions, disrupting practices or games, or being insubordinate will not contribute positively to the team environment.                                   

Be a positive representative: Conduct yourself in a manner that reflects positively on Amityville Soccer Club. Show good character both on and off the field. Disruptive behavior, defiance, or conduct that reflects poorly on the club will not be tolerated.                                   

Acknowledge consequences: Players who violate this Code of Conduct may face disciplinary actions, including suspension or expulsion from Amityville Soccer Club. The safety and well-being of all participants are of utmost importance.

Discretion and Enforcement:

Amityville Soccer Club reserves the right to enforce this Code of Conduct at its sole discretion. The club may take appropriate action in response to violations, including warnings, suspensions, or expulsion from the club, as deemed necessary to maintain a positive and safe environment for all participants.

Compliance with this Code of Conduct is mandatory for all participants in the Amityville Soccer Club. The interpretation of compliance or lack thereof is the sole discretion of the Amityville Soccer League and its staff.

We are committed to ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all members of Amityville Soccer Club. Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to suspension or expulsion from the club. We take the behavior of our members seriously and expect all individuals associated with our club to demonstrate respect, integrity, and adherence to these guidelines.

At Amityville Soccer Club, we believe that adherence to this Code of Conduct will create a supportive and respectful soccer environment for all involved. We ask that all parents, coaches, and players familiarize themselves with these guidelines and commit to upholding them.

By promoting positive behavior and mutual respect, we can ensure the best possible experience for our youth players.
